SHAWN PATRICK MCKENNA
(1966 - 2016)

Shawn Patrick McKenna, age 49, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, formerly of Lakewood, Wisconsin, passed away on February 18, 2016 after a year-long battle with leukemia.

Shawn was born on July 4, 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Helen (Klemens) McKenna and the late Lee P. McKenna. He was the older of two children. Shawn attended grades K through 8 at Big Rock Elementary, Big Rock Illinois. He attended Wabeno High School in Wabeno, Wisconsin.

Shawn loved being outdoors, fishing, motorcycles, and carpentry. Shawn was a mighty fine cook from a young age on. He loved to take things apart and fix them, starting with an alarm clock at age six. He took apart and fixed his first motorcycle at age fourteen, starting a love that lasted his whole life.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Helen McKenna; a sister Colleen (Keith) McKenzie; children, Joshua (Laura) McKenna, Patrick Peerenboom, Ian McKenna, and Lauren McKenna; grandchildren, Johnathan and Isaac; nephews, Steven and Scott; his best friend Brian Gator Seefeldt¬¬ and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shawn is also survived by many friends old and new, especially those in Manitowoc who helped him so much during the past months. Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Lee P. McKenna, his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Gladys (Lawler) McKenna, his maternal grandparents, Walter and Paulina (Jaeger) Klemens and his cousin, Nicole Klemens.

Shawn had his strength, hope, determination, and EZ attitude right to the end. In Shawn's own words "It is what it is". A gathering family and friends will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc, Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls for the kind and compassionate care they gave Shawn during his illness.

The Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reinboldfh.com
