(1953 - 2009)

Linda A. Mullins, age 56, of 631 N. Seventh St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1953, in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Russell (Jiggs) and Ruth Thompson Herzog. Linda attended Bladensburg High School in Bladensburg, Md., graduating with the class of 1971. On June 29, 1974, she married Michael Mullins in Maryland. The couple recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Linda was an instructional aide for the Manitowoc Public School District for the past 20 years. She was passionate about working with children. She also enjoyed gardening, the Packers and golfing Thursdays with the girls: Chico, Anne, Lindy and Carol.

Survivors include her husband: Michael Mullins, Manitowoc; two sons: Jason and his friend, Cari Peterson, Milwaukee, and Shaun, Manitowoc; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Allan and Cory Herzog, Derwood, Md., and Frances Herzog, Germantown, Md.; her mother-in-law: Mary Claire Mullins, Manitowoc; 10 sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Sue and Jack Witkin, Boulder, Colo., Pat and Vickie Mullins, Manitowoc, Mary Mullins and Mike Baenen, New Franken, Kay and Bob McDonald, Beaver Dam, Jayne Mullins, Madison, Nan and John Lichty, Grand Junction, Colo., Jim Mullins, Oregon House, Calif., Amy Mullins, Manitowoc, Carol and Tony Stodola, Manitowoc, Monica Mullins, Bentonville, Ark., and Sarah and Ian Griffiths, Green Bay. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, including special friends Allie and Pat Caldwell and their sons, Ryan and Brett, also survive. Linda was preceded in death by one brother: Russell Herzog Jr.; her aunt: Pauline ( Bubba) Herzog; and her father-in-law: Justin Mullins.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, until the time of service at 7 p.m.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Linda will be laid to rest at a later date.

Linda's last gift was the gift of life through the donation of her organs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Linda's name to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
