Anne Paplham, age 88, of Kewaunee, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
She was born June 4, 1918, in Carlton to the late Wenzel and Anna (Blahnik) Seidl. She married Melvin J. Paplham May 17, 1947, in Kewaunee, and he preceded her in death Sept. 10, 2000. Anne and Melvin farmed in the town of Carlton all of their lives until retiring. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and VFW Auxiliary. She loved her family and helped raise many grandchildren. She found good in everybody and her door was always open to everyone.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law: Margaret and Phillip Zinn, Two Rivers; Melva Kumbalek, Two Rivers; Mary and Tom Ferry, Pilsen; and Barbara and Mark Schroeder, Kewaunee; four sons and three daughters-in-law: Mike and Sherry Paplham, James and Jane Paplham, Richard and Becky Paplham, and Mark Paplham, all of Kewaunee; 17 grandchildren: Tami, Todd, Scott, Kelly, Rob, Shannon, Shelly, Steve, David, Amy, Jackie, Kevin, Brett, Kim, Tom, Mike and Olivia; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary and Quentin Reinke, Green Bay; and four sisters-in-law: Irma Seidl, Arlene Seidl, Isabelle Seidl and Ruth Cherveny. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Nancy; two grandsons: Scott and Brian; and four brothers: Art (Philomene) Seidl, Frank Seidl, Joe Seidl and John Seidl.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Holy Rosary Church until time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at the church with her nephew, the Rev. Larry Seidl, officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Silver Leaf Manor for the excellent care and concern that they gave Anne for the last five and a half years, Dr. Diaz and the staff of Aurora Medical Center for their care during her last illness. And a very special thank you to Paula Zirbel, a special friend.
