My great-grandmother who we all called Big Mother was born in Ladonia, Texas in 1899 to parents Florence and Houston Johnson. She attended school in Fannin County and married my great-grandfather Granville George King in 1915.
She served as a Sunday school teacher and president of the Mission Society at her church. In addition to that, my great-grandmother was a longtime member and matron of the golden Crown Court No. 206 in Ladonia, Texas.
To their happy union they had two daughters Mrs. Bernice Stephens and Mrs. Mae Dell Tucker; four sons Mr. Harry L. King, Mr. Charles King, Byrdest T. King and the late Johnny King. She had a host of family members who she is greatly missed by.
