In the 1876 Property Tax Digest for Twiggs County, Harriet is marked with 405 acres, Tarversville District. In the next iteration of the digest (1878-1882), she owns 3,500 acres. Her sons, William and Benjamin, are listed next to Harriet in this tax record and they collectively own 4,500 acres, with 73 hired hands. Her other son, Fred D. Waverley is also listed next to her on the page, and he is reporting property for his wife - 3,050 acres, with 46 hired hands.
