Betty Bonner Wesson, born December 22, 1928, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2019, at the age of 90 surrounded by her loving family in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and a current member of North Shelby Baptist Church. "Betty B", as she was known, was a devoted mother and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lillian Shadinger Bonner (1885-1969) of Georgia and James Franklin Bonner (1881-1929) of Georgia, father of her children, Robert Clifford “Bob” Wesson (1926-2019), grandson Scott Kuckens and numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by daughter Linda (Ed) Kuckens, daughter Debbie (Billy) Griffin, son, Jim (Monica) Wesson, and daughter Judy (David) Curry; grandchildren Dana (Brooks) Howle, Trey (Amanda) Griffin, Shawna Wesson, Jason Griffin, Taylor (Rachel) Wesson, and Hayden (Tiffany) Curry; great grandchildren Brae Howle, Caiden Howle, Landon Kuckens, Wyatt Wilson, Reese Kuckens, Haddie Mac Wesson and many lifelong friends.

She was an avid gardener, known for her beautiful Knock-Out Roses and always the gracious hostess cooking delicious "from scratch" food. She loved shopping and when she found an item she liked, she bought it in all colors (especially her favorite tennis shoes)! Always known for her feistiness, she was fiercely strong until the very end when she entered Heaven's gates.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL, on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m. and burial following at Forest Crest Cemetery where all are invited to attend.
