OBITUARY: Ellen Jean (Hanna) Fox
She was born in Fort Collins, Colorado the second of seven children born to Melville and Grace Hanna. She spent her childhood in the Eugene, Oregon area. She attended school at Thurston High School and met the love her life Kenny Fox. They were married in 1938. In 1944 with two kids and one on the way, dad was called to serve the country in World War II. Mom served as well, taking care of three young kids until dad returned from the war. Two more children would follow.

In 1956 mom and dad moved from Myrtle Creek, Oregon to Pasco, Washington to start a farm in the Columbia Basin. It was their shared dream to be farmers. Mom drove tractor, changed sprinkler pipes, and always had a big garden. She also had all her household and motherly responsibilities. Her love of all animals was clearly shown to all her children. All kinds of animals undeniably sensed her caring nature. Many dogs, cats, cows, goats, horses, and even a pet chicken named Peep Peep would flock to her.

In 1967 mom and dad moved to a larger farm in Block 16 and dad built mom her big house overlooking the town lights. They were truly happy and proud. Mom always put everyone else’s needs before hers and always made sure you were fed what you liked, even if it meant fixing multiple meals. She was truly loving mother to her children Patty (Paulino) Naffarate, Dick Fox (deceased), Bill (Sandy) Fox, Larry (Debi) Fox, and Mark (Jana) Fox.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents, her son Dick, her brothers Art, Donald, and Keith, and her great grandson Joe.

She is survived by her brothers Leroy and Patrick, her sister Donna, and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by four children, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and five great, great, grandchildren!

Viewing will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 with the Rosary. Funeral Service will be Friday, August 24, 2018; all at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home at 1401 S. Union Avenue, Kennewick, Washington.
