He was born in Abbeville, SC to the late Virgil and Janie Brownlee Thomas. A.T. joined the US Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1946. He later worked and retired from Regal Textile Plant in Ware Shoals, SC. At an early age, A.T. joined Flat Rock A.M.E. Church in Abbeville County and later started attending Liberty Baptist Church in Honea Path.
A.T. leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Cullins Thomas; his second wife, Eugenia Pressley Thomas; one son, R. T. Thomas; and one sister, Coren Thomas Woods.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.
