BOSSIER, CITY, LA- Funeral services for Louise Mary Markow, 85, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, with Msgr. Earl V. Provenza officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Mrs. Markow entered into rest July 3, 2007 in Shreveport. She was a lifelong resident of Bossier City, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where she served in Guam, and she was one of the first female Chief Petty Officers in the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Markow was a Red Cross Volunteer, and an avid bowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Henry V. Markow; three brothers, Jimmy, Arthur, and Gerald Shea.
Survivors include her son, John V. Markow & wife Patricia of Franklinton, LA; one brother, Robert Shea and wife Ruth of Hemut, CA; grandson, Christopher Markow, numerous nieces and nephews.
