[William J. Autrey and Francis Ann owned a wagon yard and a boarding house in Hico in the 1890's. I have a tax receipt for taxes he paid on the wagon yard in 1893. I think that they moved to Hico around that time, maybe a little earlier until then they had lived in Bosque County, the earliest tax receipt from that county was 1870. I know they were in Walnut Springs by 1862 because my great grandmother Mary Eugenia Autrey Horton said she was six weeks old when they moved from Rusk County to Walnut Springs. She said she was the youngest white child there in Walnut Springs.]
