Eric J. Michael, of Unityville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at his home. Eric was born Thursday, April 8, 1976, in Williamsport, and was the son of Debra A. Hill Hartz and the late Jeffrey J. Michael.
Eric was an active member as an EMT and firefighter of the Muncy Volunteer Fire Company, and was a previous member of Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Debra A. (Dr. Leo M.) Hartz; a daughter, Abigail M. Michael; and two sons, Chase D. Michael and Conor J. Michael, of Unityville; a stepsister, Cara B. Hartz, of Seattle, three stepbrothers, Russell L. (Suzanne) Hartz, of Exton, Edward X. Hartz, of Homestead, and Justin N. Hartz, of Williamsport; maternal grandfather, Stanley L. Hill, of Montoursville, and maternal grandmother, Dorothy L. Day, of Muncy; his fiancee, Melissa L. Barto, of Unityville; and his mother-in-law, Mary D. Root, of Hughesville.
In addition to his father, Jeffrey, Eric is predeceased by a brother, Chad L. Michael, a stepbrother, Leo M. Hartz, II, paternal grandfather and grandmother, John E. and Alberta M. Michael, and by his father-in-law, Edward Root.
Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.
