ADRIENNE J. "ADE" BURKE, 74, of WALL, died Friday, July 6, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Adrienne was a graduate of Good Council High School, Newark, and Seton Hall University, South Orange. She was a librarian in the Long Branch school system until her retirement in 1994. Adrienne was an avid reader, loved traveling to Ireland and especially enjoyed her involvement in the Spring Lake Community Theatre, working the box office and being everyone's friend.
She was predeceased by her parents, Adrian and Catherine Burke. Surviving are her sister, Patricia Burke of Wall; a niece, Kerry Clare Humphries and her husband Gary of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandniece, Brenna Burke Humphries; and a great-nephew, Devan Francis Humphries. She will be missed by countless relatives and friends, but mostly by her precious dog, Blarney Patricia. To Ade, a friend forever Slainte!
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D St., Belmar. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose Church in Belmar. Interment will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall.
