Charles Joseph Campbell, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Springhill Village. He was born on February 19, 1935, in New Richmond, Wisconsin to Hector and Mary (Padden) Campbell.

Charlie is survived by his children, Kathy Funk (Charlie), Tim Campbell, Tom Campbell (Lisa), Peggy Dean, Mark Campbell (Jodi), Karen James (Tim), Kevin Secrest (Laura), and Sean Secrest; grandchildren: Marcia, Tracy, Shannon, Audrey, Joe, David, Jennifer, Katie, Megan, Jena, Amy, Paige, Danielle, Ryan; great-grandchildren: Connor, Charlie, Conner, Parker, Kaitlyn, Galvin, Kalissa, Briella, Aiden, Kadence, Alyssa, Aaron, Caiden, Payton, and Corbin; twin brother, Hector Campbell (Betty); sister, Helen Hagen (Richard); and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, L. Anne Campbell; a grandson, Sean; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline.

Charlie worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Soo Line, and Canadian Pacific Railroad, retiring after 45 years of service. Not one to let the grass grow under his feet, he worked for many years in the sporting goods department at Walmart. He was a member of St. Joseph University Parish.

In his spare time, Charlie loved to play golf. When he wasn’t on the golf course, he could be found fishing, playing cards, watching dirt track races, or gambling at the boat. An avid sports fan, he loved to watch the Colts or Green Bay Packers play and talk about sports with his sons.

Charlie will be laid to rest next to his wife, Anne in Roselawn Memorial Park.
