Darwin Lee Anderson (Andy), 83, of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away at his home Monday December 18, 2017 surrounded by family, after a long illness.

He was born October 10, 1934, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Andrew Daniel and Ruby (Kingsford) Anderson.

Darwin married about 1954 in Idaho to Beverly June Mecham, with whom He had 5 children: Rodney, Ricky, Marletta (Bob) , Tim (Maribel), and Betty (Eddie). They divorced on 15 February 1974 in Spokane, Washington.

He met Marilyn Walton and they married almost two years after his divorce, on December 9, 1975. He became “step dad” to her 6 children: Marlene (Merlin), Annette, Kathy (Craig), Clyde (Tonya), Sherrie (Earl), and Clenna (Troy) . Darwin and Marilyn have 35 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Darwin served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

Darwin worked as a butcher, and machinist.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he and Marilyn completed a Service Mission at Zion’s Camp and for several years worked countless hours volunteering at the Seattle Washington Temple.

He loved dancing, bowling, boating, fishing, hunting and traveling to visit with family.

He played the harmonica and mandolin.

Darwin is survived by 8 children, 35 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, sister Joyce and sister Sharon (Bob).

He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his parents, sister Lola, brother Dennis, brother Ronald, sons Ricky and Rodney, daughter Marlene, son-in-law Merlin and son-in-law Earl.

He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
