James Richardson was a 17 year-old junior at Ballou High School.He was an excellent star athlete and loved by all friends and loved ones.On february 2, 2004 James was shot by another student of Ballou High .He died on his way to the hospital from several bullet wounds to the chest.The next day, 18-year-old Thomas J. Boykin surrendered to police and was charged with second-degree murder .In December of the same year, Boykin was acquitted of first and second murder charges and assault with intent to kill. However, the jury was unable to decide on a manslaughter charge. On Thursday, February 24, 2005, Thomas pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.Boykin was sentenced to 16 years in prison on June 16, 2005.
