DOLORES FANSLAU
(1927 - 2013)
Another life has passed smoothly along the channels of time to glide quietly and peacefully into the Mighty Ocean of Eternity, and the pulseless body of Dolores M. Fanslau now awaits the performance of the last solemn ceremonies that mark the last of an earthly life. The demise occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Dolores was born March 24, 1927, daughter of the late Harriet "Hattie" Christ, who passed on September 29, 1929, and Lester "Larry" Harry, who passed on March 23, 1972. She was raised by relatives until her dad remarried in 1937, at which time she moved to the Wittenberg area. Dolores attended Wittenberg High School graduating with the class of 1945. Deciding to venture away she returned to Two Rivers and worked for General Telephone Co. She married in 1946 and continued to work various jobs at companies such as Schwartz Mfg., Hamilton Mfg, Paragon Electric and the Two Rivers Bakery, which she worked for two years while employed at Paragon. Having given birth to three children found Dolores a Girl Scout leader, Brownie leader and Den Mother. At the closing of the Rivoli Theater, she volunteered to hold movies in the St. Luke School Auditorium. For a brief time, she did volunteer work at the Two Rivers Senior Center. She volunteered weekends and holidays at Holy Family Hospital. During her free time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making her own clothes, and designed and sold many floral arrangements and centerpieces. In December 1991, Dolores married her second husband, Al Fanslau. After 27 years she decided to retire from Mirro-Newel Co. and enjoy a very private quiet life with her Chocolate Point Seal Siemese Cat.
Dolores leaves behind her husband: Albert, Two Rivers; three children by her first marriage: Sharon L. (Milton) Ver Doot, Beren, NC: Richard A. Malkowski, Two Rivers; and Darla Jaye Polifka, Goldsborro, NC; step children: Karen Gass, Manitowoc; Michael Fanslau, St. Cloud, MN; four grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Sassy.
Honoring Dolores's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Her cremated remains will be entombed at Knollwood Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Peace.
