Joyner, Frances Marshall, 83, of Richmond, passed away peacefully March 9, 2019, ay her residence in Henrico. Frances was born in Lexington, Ky., to the late Edgar and Rachel Payne Marshall. She was also predeceased by her former husband, Marion Ryvers Joyner, Jr.
Frances was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a retired operator for C&P Telephone, where she worked for over 30 years. She was a very active member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church and later New Covenant Baptist Church. Frances was an active member in numerous Richmond civic organizations and charities.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lori Joyner Shrader Guidry, Sherri Joyner Douthat, Marion R. “Trey” Joyner III, and Christopher Marshall Joyner; her loving sister, Patricia Trevillian and her husband, Bernard; three grandchildren, Callie Douthat, and John and David Shrader; and nephews, Kevin (Kristi) Trevillian and Bernie (Jan) Trevillian; and great-niece, Rachel Trevillian.
A graveside service was conducted March 15, 2019, in Riverside Cemetery in Courtland. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Richmond. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richmond or to the charity of your choice.
