Formerly of Arnold

Betty M. Alter, 80, formerly of Arnold and a resident of Highland Center, Genesis Elder Care, Brackenridge, for six years, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison. She was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Tarentum to the late David and Pearl (Bryan) Alter and lived most of her life in Arnold.

Miss Alter was a homemaker and worked at Alcoa, New Kensington, for a number of years.

She was a Tarentum High School graduate and a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, and the New Kensington Salvation Army and its Home League and enjoyed watching TV.

Surviving are cousins Betty Bryan Duffy and Jeanne (John) Pitkavish, of Natrona Heights, and Pearl Calhoun, of Lower Burrell.

Also predeceased by her brother, Frank Alter.

Relatives and friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m. services Saturday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum. The Rev. Stewart A. Pollock, her pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
