Helen Imogene "Jean" Nix, 82, of Newton passed away at 9:09 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2002 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Funeral services celebrating Jean's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Bro. Havard Dasch and Bro. Dennis Coad officiating. Burial will be Honey Cemetery in Bogota. Jean was born July 2, 1920 in Jasper Co., the daughter of Ralph and Augusta Brewer Gorrell. She married Paul J. Nix October 10, 1942; he preceded her in death November 8, 1996. Jean was a homemaker and loving Aunt. She was a member of Bogota Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Doris (Bob) Gumfory, Tucson, AZ and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Evelyn Smith and a baby sister.
