Edna Merle Baumgardner, 92, of Trolly Street, Jane Lew, died Monday, October 25, 2004 in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Baumgardner was born in Wallace on august 23, 1912, a daughter of the late Cecil W. and Venia Sprout Cunningham. She was married to Raymond P. Baumgardner who preceded her in death on May 27, 1971. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dorsey R. "Dick" Baumgardner and his wife Mildred, Liberty Addition; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty M. Walker and her husband Paul, Jane Lew; four grandchildren, Sharon Boyce, Doris Dean, Melinda Walker and David Walker; seven great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche See and Oca Huston; and one brother, Arlond Cunningham. Mrs. Baumgardner was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. There will be no public visitation. A service of remembrance will be conducted on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at 10:00 at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 300 Scott Street, Morgantown, WV 26508.
