Susan N. Golding, age 59, a resident of Harmony of Two Rivers, died on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Holy Family Memorial Medical center, Manitowoc.
She was born on Feb 18, 1952, in Idaho, daughter of the late James and Ruth (Schumacher) Golding. Susan was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and then the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, obtaining a degree in elementary education. Susan owned and operated The Honey Rock Daycare Center. She then was employed with The Manitowoc Human Services Department. Susie lived in Minneapolis, being employed as a counselor in a boys group home. Susie returned home to care for her mother and eventually became a Medicare coder for the Manitotowc Clinic. She later was employed by Holiday House as a counselor. Susie had various interests, especially crafts,bridge,volunteering as a preschool Sunday school teacher and a volunteer at St. Mary's Home. Susie was an avid Packers and Brewers fan! She was a member of first Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Thomas and Judy Golding, Cedarburg, James and Ingrid Golding, Badnais Heights, Minn; a sister: Mary Beth Golding, Minneapolis; four nephews: Geoffrey and Sharon Golding, Philadelphia, Edward Golding,New York City, Andrew Golding, Chicago and Josh Terry, Saukville; a niece: Jamie and Jeremy Dombrowski, Manitowoc; a great-aunt to three nieces and two nephews. Also survived by two very close friends: Frank Raith and Mary Ann Peaslee.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Ronald Harswick, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, until 10:45 a.m.
A very warm Thank You to all who provided super care to Susie over the years, especially Dr. Mark Herring and Dr. Milan Jordan.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
