Bill Perkins, age 76, of Paxton, Florida, passed away on October 8, 2019, in Crestview, Florida. He was born July 6, 1943, to John and Eva Dell Perkins.

Bill retired as a 1st sergeant in the Alabama National Guard and United States Army, in which he served 23 years. He retired in 2009 from 43 years of being an owner-operator in the trucking industry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Florala, Alabama, and the community's Cancer Freeze. Bill loved his family, his church family in which he served as an honorary dishwasher, his truck, walking the lake yard and watching Walker Texas Ranger while napping in his chair.

Bill is preceded in death by parents, John and Eva Dell Perkins; four sisters, Wynell Busby Elizabeth McIntosh; Johnnie May Maloy and Francis Whittington; and one brother, John Perkins.

Bill is survived by wife, one daughter, one son, one sister, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and an abundance of extended loved ones, including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 11: 00 am, Friday, October 11, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Florala, with James Pickron officiating.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home.
