George is the son of
Alexander McBain (1806-1883), and
his wife Eliza Roberts (1812-1889).
George was the 5th of their
six known children.

After his first wife Harriet died in
1905, George was married in 1908, to
his second wife Mrs. Isadora N. (Kizer)
Upham (nicknamed "Dora"), the former
wife of Theodore Albert Upham.
She was the daughter of James Kizer Sr.
and his wife Mary Catherine Ammerman.
(George and Isadora had no children
together).

George's first wife Harriet Ammerman.

George is buried next to his first
wife Harriet, in the Hamilton
Church Cemetery, next to the (historic)
Hamilton Church, on the corner of
Chigago Trail and Walnut Road, in
Olive Township, in Hamilton, St. Joseph
County Indiana (N.-E. of New Carlisle).

Also buried here are their son
Lawerence Abram Kenneth McBain and
their daughter Mable Dora and her
husband Arthur Leroy "Roy" Kizer,
with Mable's two infant sons Robert D.
Kizer (1915-1916), and Kenneth K. Kizer
(1925).

in Niles, Michigan on
Thursday, Jan. 4, 1923, page 4:

George Washington McBain died at the
Clark hospital [Clark Equipment Company
hospital in Buchanan, MI] following
an operation for acute appendicitis.
He was born in St. Joseph county, [IN]
Nov. 20, 1849, and died Dec. 31, [1922].
Mr. McBain moved from Hamilton, Ind.,
to Buchanan [MI] five years ago
[about 1917].
He is survived by his widow [Isadora]
and several children. Burial was made
in Hamilton cemetery, Hamilton, Ind.,
Janurary 2.
