Luther was the son of Andrew Jackson Ford & Sarah Catherine Hall Ford. He married Sarah Rosetta Kelley (daughter of Lewis Kelley & Mary E. Watson Kelley) on November 22, 1888. Sarah died in 1898. He married Georgia Helm in 1900. Luther was the father of Maude Lee, Flora Ethel, Mary Edna,and the step-father of Theodore & Estelee Helm.
