Manitowoc - CHRISTINE JOY BURETTA , age 70,went to Heaven to join her beloved sisters and parents on March 5, 2018.

She was born in Manitowoc,Wisconsin on October 15,1947 to the late Beverly and Clarence Buretta. She was married to Gerald O. Stock on May 15,1966 at Saint Boniface Church in Manitowoc,Wisconsin. She remarried later in life to Ned Kohlbeck of Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
She was a true Matriarch, the rock and pillar of her entire immediate and extended family. Kindness and Goodness were at the center of her being and she extended love and grace to everyone she knew. If anyone emulated Jesus Christ, it was her. Her house was "grand central station" for family and friends, and friends of friends. Everyone gathered in her home because there was great joy and sense of fun just being in her presence. She was a giver of givers and loved the flurry of activity that always gravitated to her home. She wouldn't have it any other way. Chris was an ever-supporting daughter, a faithful wife, a best of the best mom and grandmother, and an unforgettable friend to countless. She loved her house and gardens, sitting in the sun and walking on the beach, reading, painting, refinishing furniture, collecting dolls, Native American artwork and roosters, and giving gifts (way too much at Christmas)
Blessed with a servant's heart, she was a kind and caring nurse for over 45 years. She began her nursing career in 1970 at Holy Family Hospital after graduating from the Holy Family Hospital School of Nursing RN Program (Manitowoc,WI).
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Management from Alverno College (Milwaukee,WI) and her Master of Science degree in Continuing Education and Administrative Leadership from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She earned 6 graduate credits towards her M.S.N. (Pathophysiology and Theories of Nursing) from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She held numerous positions as an RN at various hospitals throughout Wisconsin, Educational instructor and Services Manager, and Director of Nursing.
Chris was a modern marvel and superhero to many. She is survived by her son Jack Stock, her daughter and son-in-law Heather and Bo Silverno, her daughter Becky Stock; her seven grandchildren: Kelsey,Kaenan,Josey,Alicia, Brittany,Kapono, and Molly; two great-grandchildren: Christian and Isla; her brother Dan and his wife Lucy Buretta; nieces and nepherws' Anne and Jason Horak, Justin Jagemann and Jamie Zeman, Jonathan Jagemann, Emily Buretta and Drs Kate and Max Krucoff, most beloved and spoiled dogs Bella and Max, and numerous loved family members and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday,March 9, preceded by Visistation that same day from 11 am- 1 pm. Both the funeral and the visitations will be held at the St Francis of Assisi Church on Grand and 14th, Manitowoc.
