Ada Ellen Gorrell Thomas, daughter of Tiberius and Mary Jane Heady, was born in Jasper Co., October 27, 1872 and passed away at the family home near Bogota, Septermber 18, 1945, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 22 days. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Thomas, to whom she was united in marriage February 9, 1932. She was previously married to John William Gorrell, who preceded her in death April 21, 1928. To this union were born five children, Ralph, Mrs. Earl (Blanche) Swisher, and Roy of Bogota, Howard of Granite City, and Mrs. Lorenzo (Mabel) Zimmerman of Newton. She also leaves one step daughter, Mrs. Clyde Frye of Robinson; twenty-three grand-children; six great grand-children; two brothers, Richard E. Hall of Peoria, and Edward Hall of Newton. One sister, Mrs. Claude (Bertha) Childers, preceded her in death. She was a member of the Christian church of Bogota.
