ROBERT JOHNSON On June 26, 2007, Robert "Bob J." Johnson, 69, peacefully passed away. He had battled rheumatoid arthritis for more than 20 years. Bob loved Elvis music and enjoyed fishing and boating during his healthy years. He was an avid fan of the University of Alabama football team and the Dallas Cowboys. He was retired U.S. Air Force and served four terms in the Vietnam War during his 20 year career as a security policeman. After retiring, Bob worked for several years at the Dunes Hotel in security. Friends and family remember his stories about the celebrities that he had met. Bob was active in a local 12-step program. He proudly celebrated 25 years of recovery last fall. Julie, Bob's wife of more than 48 years, and his daughters, Pam Hogeweide of Portland, Ore., and Beth Puentes of San Ramon, Calif., were at his side when he passed. Bob also leaves behind the three joys of his life, his grandchildren, Rose and Jeremy Hogeweide of Portland, Ore., and Sophia Puentes of San Ramon, Calif. Their Papa loved them very much. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Betty Cleveland of Bonney Lake, Wash., and Louise Hall of Springfield, Mo.; and his brother, John William Johnson of Norfolk, Va. A viewing will be 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, July 2, with service immediately following, both at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W.
