Mr. Greiner was born Aug. 31, 1997 [sic], in Floris, Iowa. He was a retired longshoreman.

Survivors include his son, Joe L. Jr. of Milwaukie; sisters, Louise Kirtchgatter of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Ruth Belz of Annandale, Minn., Hazel Petznick of LaCenter, Wis., Fae Severson of Austin, Minn., and Dorothy Hulsizer of Mauston, Wis; brother, Jim of Mason City, Iowa; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association. Disposition was private, and Riverview Abbey handled the arrangements.
