obituary: YOUNG, Rosamund nee Merivale
Early October 31st, 16 days before her 91st birthday. She had 91 glorious years full of love, friendship and fun. From her birth into a magical theatre family, to her days of adventure in repertory theatre in the U.K. and overseas during the Second World War, to her later years as a loving mother and grandmother, she always enjoyed the most splendid life. Her keen mind, her incredible fountains of knowledge and her deep appreciation for the arts will be sorely missed. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, particularly in the amazing manner in which she gallantly coped with aging. She faced the ravages of time with the same dignity and courage which were exemplary throughout her life. She is deeply mourned by her two daughters, Caroline (MacBrien) and Jane (Merivale) and her son-in-law, Ian Ward. She was a consummate grandmother hugely loved by James and Tom Seccombe and Ross Ward. Her family and friends, in Canada and the U.K., will feel her absence greatly. Her spirit was indomitable to the very end, and she lives on in all of us. We welcome family and friends to share their memories with us to celebrate the joy of her long life. The service will be held at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street) on Friday, November 5th, 2004 at 1:00 p.m.
