Death of Mrs. McSwain
News was received in Dillon yesterday of the death of Mrs. T. C. Swain which occurred at her home near Bingham Tuesday morning at 4 o'clock. Mrs. McSwain had been ill for several weeks, but her death was unexpected. She took a turn for the worse Monday and never rallied.
Mrs. McSwain was a daughter of Mr. Brown McCallum, one of the leading business men of the Pee Dee country in his time. She was married to Dr. McSwain about fifteen years ago and besides her husband she is survived by children. The brothers surviving her are Messrs. Arch McCallum of Hamer, and Arthur McCallum of Texas. Her only surviving sister is Mrs. R. P. Hamer, Jr., of Hamer.
Mrs. McSwain was a most excellent woman and her untimely death is deeply regretted by scores of friends not only in this immediate section but over the state.
She was buried in the family plot at Reedy Creek Church Wednesday morning.
