Umberto Vittorio DiBartolomeo (Burt) age 87 of Kiel, Wisconsin, formerly Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family October 14 after suffering from two strokes the past two years.

The family moved to Detroit, Michigan where Burt attended St. Anthony Catholic School and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1951 where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He married Elizabeth Marie Clark (Betty) on November 7, 1953. Burt joined the US Army 8th Regiment APO 39 during the Korean War July 2, 1954. He was stationed in Germany for two years and honorably discharged May 24, 1956. Burt owned a Pool Hall on Gratiot Avenue in Detroit with his good friend Ron Selleke for a couple years. He attended Lawrence Institute of Technology in Detroit graduating with an associate degree in accounting. Burt spent his work career selling furniture for Sears Roebuck Company and J.C. Penny Company. Burt married Andre Janette Gardiner on March 25, 1995.

Burt loved watching sports of all kinds, especially golf and his beloved Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and MSU Spartans. His favorite hobbies were downhill skiing, golfing, fishing and two breakfast clubs a week with his buddies, some deer and pheasant hunting. He looked forward to the annual fall fishing trip to Canada to catch perch as well as his occasional golfing trips to the Carolinas and Florida. Burt was a member of the Knights of Columbus, active Kiwanis Club member for 35 + years including past Kiwanis Club President, an organization most dear to him and member of the Italian Club of Macomb County Michigan. Burt and his wife Andre (Nana) loved taking their annual August trip to Wisconsin via the S.S. Badger to visit their 4 grandkids where they played in water parks, worked jigsaw puzzles, watched the grandkid’s extracurricular activities and always headed north for one day to watch the Green Bay Packers in training camp (Burt’s 2nd favorite football team), tour the stadium and visit the Hall of Fame.
