Sister of Cornelius CJ Griffin, Miss Margaret Griffin, Mary Griffin (Savage), Jeremiah Griffin, David Griffin. Daughter of John and Sarah Griffin from Ireland, Raised in Bethlehem, PA and came to Selma after mother died (about 1883) Met John Boylan and married in 1887. Their children were Mary, Sallie (Sara), John, Nellie, Regina and daughter Kate that died as an infant in 1897.

The Bowlans Mary and John died too young leaving 5 children and her Sister Margaret Griffin (Sister of CJ Griffin) raised the children until 1915 when she died. The children moved to New Orleans (John) and San Francisco (Mary and Sallie or Sara, and Regina). Daughter Nellie passed away in Selma in 1917.
