Daisy Bell Davenport
Daisy Bell "Lady" Davenport was born August 26, 1954, and bid this world farewell Wednesday, October 16, 2013. She was 59 years old and a resident of Carbondale. She was born to Daisy B. Lane and Henry "J.W." Davenport.
Daisy was a graduate of Montgomery High School in 1972. She went on to business school in Charleston and attended West Virginia Institute of Technology. She was employed for the last 20 years with Well Point (formerly Blue Cross Blue Shield).
Daisy, "Lady," was a dedicated mother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Bell Lane, and her second father, Carl Combs. She was a loving daughter and caretaker of her second mother, Alice Combs, until she passed away.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted son, Gregory L. Carter; father, Henry "J.W." Davenport; sisters, Anita Lane, Carolyn Lane Golden (Dwight), Gail Jacobs (George) and Erica "Lynnie" Howard; brothers, Lawrence Lane (Regina), Matthew Cox (Kim), Charles "Poo Poo" Howard and Eric "Smokey" Howard; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Funeral service will be noon Saturday, October 26, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Carbondale, with the Rev. Robert D. Morton officiating and the Rev. William T. Kinney eulogizing. Burial will follow at Meadow Haven, Ingram Branch.
Her family will receive friends at 11 a.m., prior to the service, at the church.
