We got him from a farmer at the farmers market in Kokomo in 2009. The farmer made me promise to take care of him and we did for 10 years. But I wonder who really took care of whom. Our cat was so loved by us!
Boots was Tim and my cat for 10 years and he will not be forgotten. As a part of the process of adjusting and to celebrate his life, I made him a slide show. I would like to share that with my friends. I used a song by Michael W Smith that I heard in college that fits how I feel today.
We will never forget you Boots Houdini Newman.

I have to remember you are not there
where your body lays beneath the ground
while snow gently falls through the cold winter air
I am feeling so sad 'cause you're not around.
You left me here to figure out why
you had to get sick, and why you had to die.
Til then I visit your grave and know
that's no longer you beneath the cold winter snow.
I miss watching tv and stroking your fur
my beautiful gray cat, I miss when you purr.
I cannot replace you, to give another I am not ready
It's enough for me to keep my heart calm and steady.
Cotton puff with claws, where did you go?
What is the bridge, what treasures does it hold?
Did my dad scoop you up and is he holding you for me
til the day I can get up there to all eternity?
I think Dad does have you, you'll sit on his lap then
and his gray/blue eyes will tear for missing me so much.
You keep him company my cat, and tell him I love him so
while down here I stand in silence at your grave
while it continues to snow.
I have to remember you are not there
where your body lays beneath the ground
while snow gently falls through the cold winter air...
for your kitty spirit is with daddy that I believe is true
never forget for a minute, my babykat, I will ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS LOVE YOU!
