On August 27, 1960, Robert married the love of his life, Peggy Parker, in Littlefield and they were married over 59 years. Robert served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. A lifetime member of the Earth Roping Club and a member of the Springlake Fire Department, Robert was a farmer until retiring in 2009.
