Robert Eugene "Gene" Scott March 31, 1927 - September 28, 2017 Robert Eugene "Gene" Scott, 90, of Collbran, died September 28, 2017, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center. Gene was born in Pueblo, CO on March 31, 1927, to Joseph and Ada Scott. His early years were spent in Pueblo and Norwood, Colorado where he graduated from high school. He married Delores Beals on Christmas day, 1948. They moved to Collbran in 1959, where they raised two daughters. He was a general contractor that served his community. He was always willing to help others and loved to drop in on his family and friends. In later years, he enjoyed being involved in the Plateau Valley Historical Society. Survivors include wife, Delores; daughters, Linda (Dan) Hawkins of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Karen (Lew) Arnold of Hoover, AL; grandchildren, Brittany (Paul) Fairbanks, Dustin Arnold and Kaytlin Arnold, and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Evelyn, and Madelyn Fairbanks. Gene is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rockford; sisters, Lucille Lashmett, Loreen Miklich, and Lillian Barnhart. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7th, at Collbran Congregational Church. The family requests that you dress in blue jeans or casual wear to celebrate Gene's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in his name, are suggested to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
