Matthew R. Williams, age 23, of 2826 36th St., Two Rivers, died Sunday, October 10, 1999, in Lakewood, Wis., as the result of an automobile accident.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 Thursday, October 14, 1999, at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. William O'Brien. Cremation will follow.
Matt was born July 31, 1976, in Independence, Iowa, son of Jerry and Sara (Sally) Roloff Williams. Matt was a graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1995. He attended Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton and received an associate degree in Police Science in 1998. Matt was employed at Kewaunee Nuclear Plant as a Security Officer and also with Manitowoc County Sheriffs Department, as a Reserve Deputy. He was a member of the West Shore Conservation Club and also of the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Matt was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his mother and father, Jerry and Sally Williams, Two Rivers; one sister, Betsy Williams, Two Rivers; paternal grandmother, Georgia Williams, Winthrop, Iowa; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Matt will be greatly missed by Boots and Chase. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents. Lee and Florence Roloff; and his paternal grandfather, Robert B. Williams.
Friends may call at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Father Bill.
