Jim W. Torrison, age 66, of 2350 S. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, October 27, 1992, at the family residence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 1992, at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Lind will officiate, with cremation to follow.

He was born January 25, 1926, at Manitowoc, son of the late Walter Elmer and Sophia Haberman Torrison. Mr. Torrison was a graduate of Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1944. He also attended Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He married the former Audrey T. Miller n June 21, 1947, at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Torrison was employed from 1946 by his father-in-law, Emil Miller at the Miller Welding Service until 1960 when he became the owner of Miller Welding Service until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 88 of Manitowoc, the Long Lake Association, and was a former member of the Manitowoc County Master Builders Association.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey; one daughter and son-in-law, Maren and Michael Pekarski, Appleton; a son, Scott Torrison, Kiel; a sister-in-law, Colleen Cameranese, Brookfield, Wis.; four grandchildren, Polly and Meg Pekarski, Ben and Kitty Torrison; six nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucinda and Emil Miller.

Friends may call at the First Lutheran Church Chapel from 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 1992, until the time of services. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

A Memorial Fund has been established in his name.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
