HARVEY HUGH HATCH, 97, resident of Animas passed away Wednesday October 9, 2019 in Las Cruces.

Funeral services will be Saturday October 19, 2019 at 11 o'clock in the morning at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cotton City. Interment with honors will take place at the Animas-Cotton City Cemetery.

Harvey was born July 23, 1922 in Virden, New Mexico to George Lynn and Julia Maude (Croff) Hatch. He was raised in Virden and on March 27, 1942 he married Vanita Pace. Harvey entered the United States Army June 8, 1944 and after honorably serving his country he has lived in Animas where he began farming in 1946. He lived and farmed in Animas, NM for most of his life, until moving to T or C, NM and later to Las Cruces, NM. Harvey enjoyed horse racing, fishing, hunting, and attending his grand-kids sporting events. He had a love of country music, especially when performed by his family, and also loved dancing with his wife Vanita.

He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Vanita Hatch of Las Cruces, NM; children, Karen (Randy) Norrick of Rodeo, NM, Pauline (Dave) Davis of Eagle Point, OR, Johnny (Jody) Hatch of Animas, NM, Marilyn (James) Bagwell of Las Cruces, NM; brother Roy (Sunni) Hatch of Thatcher, AZ; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Erik Milosevich, (Adam Davis), Bryan Bagwell, Brandan Bagwell, Tell Swift, Lynn Hatch and Dale Hatch.

In lieu of flowers family requests that memorial contributions be made in Harvey's memory to the

Hospice organization of your choice.
