Halina Baczek, age 79, 112 S. River Blvd., Plymouth, entered eternal life on Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2007, at Kindred Hearts, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on Sept. 5, 1927, in Poland, the only daughter of the late Jozef and Stanisawa (Kutycka) Lewandowski. She attended school in Poland. Halina had a very hard life in Poland, until with the help from the Russians and the U.S. Army, she was able to immigrate to the United States and make her dream come true by becoming a United States citizen on May 9, 1958. On May 8, 1988, she married Zygmunt Baczek in Milwaukee.

Survivors include her one son: Andrew (Rose) Lasek, Two Rivers; three grandchildren: Jimmy Lasek, Oak Creek; Joshua Lasek, fiancee, Jill, Green Bay; and Sara Lasek, Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her husband: Zygmunt; one son: Leslie; and nine brothers.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held in Halina's memory.

The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Plymouth is serving her family.
