This is my maternal Grandfather, I don't remember much as he died when I was only 6.
He was married to Helen M. Brinzo, together they had 8 children 4 boys & 4 girls.

I do remember going to the house which seemed at the time to have a million steps up from the road where the mail box was ( being a kid it looked that way).
He had all kind of stuffed animals hanging on the barn, owls, squirrels, etc. They were beautifully done and looked like the were ready to jump off at you. There was also a place to pick coal, being from a place where our heat was oil, coal seemed really fasinating, not to mention dirty, which we loved. And an Outhouse ! what a glorious thing to kids with indoor plumbing! It was a wonderful trip "up home" to visit.

I do remember his viewing,it was jammed with people, my brother had an earache and I remember one of the old gentlemen, blowing cigar smoke into his ear to help with the ache, who knows?

My mother told me they had the usual farm type animals, chickens, ducks, roosters, and there was one of Pop's roosters that used to chase her, what she never told anyone was she used to tease him first. Pop also had "Fighting Roosters" before that became illegal.

He raised them with a stern but loving hand and must have had a lot of patience with his kids after some of the stories my Mom tells me.
I am sure some of my older cousins may have other stories to tell and I will record them, there are only 2 children of 8 surviving, My Mother- Catherine (Kate)Spock- McManamon & My Uncle Stephen(Stevie) Spock.

I really wish I had more time to know him before he passed. I am sure there are many things he could have taught me, I don't know if he spent any time in the Armed Forces, but will continue my search to find more about "Pop"
