Limestone - Mr. A.M. “Don” Dockery, age 89, passed away Saturday October 26, 2019.

He was born February 21, 1930 in Del Rio, TN. He was the son of the late Geneva and Lattie Dockery.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Vick Dockery and his sister, Edna Haney.

He is survived by his two Brothers Bob Dockery and Conley Dockery; his four Sisters Verlie Williams, C L Trentham, Zollie Berry, and Marie Miller; his three Children Paula (Randall) Chandley, Edward (Lisa) Dockery, and Steven (Sharon) Dockery; his four Grandchildren Derek Loyd, Jessica Cain, Jeremy Dockery, and Matthew Dockery; his seven Great-Grandchildren Skylar Hall, Asher Hall, Saylor Cain, Zabbier Hall, Ethan Dockery, Abigale Dockery, and Makayla Dockery; and his one Great-Great-Granddaughter Emerson Cain.

Don served in the Navy aboard the USS Cassin Young from 1952 until his Honorable Discharge in 1955.

He moved to Johnson City along with Wife, Charlotte, in 1955 and then to Limestone in 1975. He worked in the Floor Covering and Acoustical Ceiling Business until he founded Dockery Floor Covering in 1964. In 1989 he and his brother, Conley, founded CACO Inc. CACO is a Manufacture of Window Treatments that are shipped all over the United States. Don operated Dockery Floor Covering along with his Brother, Conley, until its sale in 1996.
Don was also a Farmer, Hunter, and Bird Dog Trainer who competed in Bird Dog Trails all over the Southeast.

The Family will receive Friends Tuesday October 29th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home 418 W College St Jonesborough, TN. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday October 30th at 11:00 AM at Mount Bethel Christian Church 361 Clear Springs Road Limestone, TN. Anyone wishing to attend should arrive by 10:45 AM.

Pallbearers will be Derek Loyd, Jeremy Dockery, Matthew Dockery, Ethan Dockery, Mike Williams and Marvin Pleasant.

Service will be conducted by Pastor Ron McEwen of First Church of God in Johnson City, TN.
