Birdie Mai (Mills) Rowe was born on January 10, 1905 in Tennessee, the daughter of Albert Burton "Burt" Mills (ca 1873-1909) and Alice (Gilliland) Taylor (1875-17 Jan 1955).
Living at 1906 12th Avenue North in Nashville, she was 50 years old and married when her clothes caught on fire at home on January 13, 1955, giving her 3rd degree burns on her face, hands and legs. Her mother Alice was similarly burned in the fire and died on January 17th. Birdie died of her injuries on January 18th at Mid-State Baptist Hospital, and burial was the next day in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
