He was the last surviving of 15 children of Johnson Goforth and Avalonia McSwain Carroll.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Carroll.
Mr. Carroll was a retired, self-employed farmer and textile worker.
He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
