Mr. Adams was born in Weatherford to Claude P. and Maudie Lee (Carter) Adams. He grew up in the Bullock Community. He worked for rural water works at City of Carbon as a super-intendent. He married Thelma Estelle Morton. She preceded him in death. Claude served during WWII in the Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eastland.
Survivors at the time of his death include his special friend, Opal Rogers of Ranger; two sisters, Amita Trollinger of Mineral Wells and Quilla Tolliver of Weatherford; four grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; eight great-great-grand-children; and many nieces and nephews.
