Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Nitzschke) Keller, 47, of Portage, IN (formerly of Monterey, IN), passed away at 7:40 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, IN.

She was born on September 6, 1972 in Winamac, IN to James R. and Karen E. (Rafferty) Nitzschke. She graduated from Winamac High School in 1991 and attended Ivy Tech in Lafayette, IN. Kathy was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey. She enjoyed cooking, socializing with friends, listening to music and dancing. Most of all, Kathy was a devoted mother to her two daughters.

She is survived by her mother; two daughters; one brother; four stepsiblings; two aunts; two uncles; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Sylvia Nitzschke; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Barbara Rafferty.

Visitation will be from 2-6 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN. Services will be held at 6 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN with Rev. Michael McKinney officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Kewanna, IN.
