Julia Dean McCollum Weipert, age 87, resident of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at The Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Mrs. Weipert, daughter of the late Abner Vichele White and Vera Mae Childs White, was born September 6, 1932 in Troy, Alabama.

She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse at the Columbus Regional Medical Center for over 10 years before retiring. Mrs. Weipert was a member of the Columbus Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed fashion, cooking, and always had a sense of humor. In her younger years, she enjoyed trips to the beach, boating, and swimming. Her family remembers her as a lady who showed immense kindness to others, was an amazing mother and grandmother, and always wanted to be dressed for any occasion.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Weipert was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby (RC) McCollum; second husband, Ken Weipert; sister, Vera Mae Miller; and brother, Abner Morris White. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Michelsen and her husband Larry of Damascus, Oregon and Denise McCollum of Puyallup, Washington; three sons, Dennis McCollum and his wife Kay Adams of Columbus, Charles Richard "Rick" McCollum and his wife Janet of Kennewick, Washington and James Rodney McCollum of Spanish Fort, Alabama; twelve grandchildren, Charis, Aaron, Candice, Lance, Stacey, Kelly, Ryan, Michael, Kimberly, Sage, Mandy, and Katlyn; fifteen great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Elaina, Riley, Jordan, James, Brandyn, Breanna, Britney, Mason, Mitchell, Dylan, Landon, Jack, Charlie, and Lilly; many other relatives and friends.
