Gordon Dean Blackmer. born 24 Sep 1923 in Flint, Michigan to parents David Allen Blackmer and Myrtle Marie Dean. He passed away at age 96 on 4 Nov 2019. Gordon was one of five siblings including: Margaret, Lee, Donna and Myrtle. Gordon served in WWII with the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic Pacific, entering in 1941 and discharged in 1946. He was stationed at NTS Great Lakes, IL; NAS Corpus Christi, TX; served with ACORN 27 and ACORN 24; Naval Air Base Navy 3205. After discharge he returned to Flint, MI married Pauline Louise Root, and was employed at Buick in Flint, as train conductor and then train engineer until his retirement, following in his father's footsteps. Pauline and Gordon were parents to one son, Gordon R. Blackmer. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lee and sister Margaret, and wife Pauline. He is survived by his two sisters Donna and Myrtle, many nieces and nephews, his son "Gordie", daughter-in-law Linda, grandchildren Jason (wife Kara) and Lane, and one great grandson, Dean . Gordon will be interred at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, and his celebration of life will be held in Spring 2020.
