BELOVED SON, BROTHER, FATHER, AND FRIEND

Scott David Campbell, 55, of Rockford and Roscoe, died Friday, August 19, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Scott and his twin brother, Doug, were born December 28, 1960, in Detroit, MI, the sons of Sherry and Stan Campbell. His father, Stan was playing in an NFL Championship game in Philadelphia, PA when Scott and Doug were born. Football was a life forming activity in the Campbell family. The Campbell family moved to Rockford in 1964, where the Campbell boys grew up in the north end Oxford St. area, full of children who played together constantly and formed lifelong friendships.

In 1977, the Campbell family moved to the Winnebago area, where Scott and his brothers attended high school and participated in Winnebago High School's athletics, graduating in 1979. Scott attended Southern Illinois University and graduated in 1983. He moved to Denver, CO with his brothers and was there until 1987, having had wonderful life experiences. He returned to Rockford in 1988. Scott enjoyed the challenges of entrepreneurship and worked in the areas of real estate, property management and food service for many years.

Scott and Kim Bacino were married in Rockford in 1991. Scott's passion in life were his children, Katie, Maggie, Anna, and Jack. He and his wife Kim, devoted themselves to their lives with their children. Scott was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and camping. Many of his treasured life's moments were spent fishing and camping with his brothers and friends. He was an avid Chicago Bear and Cub fan and participated in Fantasy Football seasons, where the Pigs rule!

Survived by his mother, Sherry; his brothers, Douglas, Jeff, and Chris; his children, Catherine, Marguerite, Anna, and Jack Stanley and their mother, Kim Campbell. Predeceased by his father, Stan.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 N. Bell School Rd, Rockford with Reverend Dr. Bill Ward officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 23. 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. A memorial will be established at a later date.
