GREENBERG, Barbara Kridel Bear, died on Thursday, August 27, 2015, in Richmond. She is survived by her three children, Harry (Christine), Donald (Lori) and Andrea (Nancy); along with five grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel (Lauren), Phillip, Michael (Lauren) and Brian; and a great-grandson, Remy. Her first husband, S. Elmer Bear; and second husband, David J. Greenberg; along with her sister, Mary Mark; and parents, Alice and Robert Kridel, preceded her in death. Barbara was born on February 15, 1928 in New York City, and graduated from Simmons College in Boston. She was a member of Beth Ahabah Temple, a resident at Westminster Canterbury, and a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. There will be a graveside service at Hebrew Cemetery at Fifth and Hospital Streets on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the S. Elmer Bear Chair, MCV Foundation (checks payable to MCV Foundation), P.O. Box 842026, Richmond, Va. 23286-0441 or to a favorite charity.
